Lighthouse Community Food Pantry

In 1997, the Lighthouse Community Food Pantry operated out of a small room in the church's basement on Clark Street. Eighteen years later, the food pantry now sits in the Cadillac Mills at 30 Meeting St., where approxiamately 225 families are served each month.

In 2016, the food pantry was awarded the RI Community Food Bank's Certified Best Practices Program Award, which takes into account Leadership & Management, Distribution, Food Safety, Cultural Competency, and Community Resources & Partnerships.

Receiving the greatest recognition was our new program with Pastor Catherine Brousseau who volunteers to provide counseling on the last two Mondays of each month. Initially offered for those seeking help with addiction, this program now provides counseling to individuals, groups, and families for a wide range of needs. Pastor Catherine recently underwent training in the area of social services and is now able to assist with subjects including housing, utility payments, and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
